WHAT CAN YOU DO A WEEKEND WITH YOUR FAMILY IN MALLORCA: | PART

Has the weekend come and you don't know what you can do with your family? Well, in this blog we are going to give you several ideas about amazing plans to do.

Nowadays, due to #Covid-19, it's difficult to carry out plans due to the number of restrictions. Even so, we have the option to do an excursion with our family to discover magical places in Mallorca.

THE BEST EXCURSION IN CALA DEIÀ:

Area: Deià, Serra de Tramuntana.

Minimum age: 4 years.

You start: Can Boi Refuge in Deià (Carrer es Clot, nº5).

Difficulty: low.

Duration: 90 minutes.

Parking: Yes, most of the town has paid parking, even so there are free zones. Another option if we go to eat at the Refuge you can park in it, since it has a small parking.

Baby stroller: Yes, although in this case we must take the excursion along the road that leads to the beach.

Baby carrier: Yes.

Deià town

This excursion is a circular route that starts from one of the most charming towns in Mallorca, Deià. Being an easy and short excursion, it is ideal to do with children.

The only drawback of this excursion is the parking, since depending on the time of year it can be very difficult to park. At the end of the excursion if it has rained we will be able to see the force of the water, it will be an unforgettable image.

As it's a short excursion, we recommend going up to the cemetery and the church where we will have spectacular views of the town.

START OF OUR EXCURSION

We are going to start the excursion from the "Refugi Can Boi", located in "És Clot" street. It's a good starting point because it's easy to find and we can also make a technical stop to have a coffee or even eat.

Although if the idea is to eat sandwiches, it's ideal to do it in the cove itself, so we enjoy the views. If we enter the refuge, it is worth visiting its mill with the main elements for the production of oil.

From the refuge we will find the wooden indicator that will mark the beginning of the path. It's very easy since what you have to do is go down towards the cove. The journey is pleasant and simple. At some point we have to be careful to don’t deviate from the route. If we follow the directions, in less than 40 minutes we will be down.

Cala Deià

For the last part of the excursion we will cross the Torrent Major through the "Pont de Sa Cala" that will leave us on the main road that goes down to Cala Deià. In summers it's usually crowded with cars, therefore in my opinion it's better in winter or spring. The arrival at the beach is very beautiful with boats on the side of the road to reach the beautiful fishing port.

Once here we can eat and enjoy a pleasant time by the sea. Children can enjoy playing and having fun with each other in a magical, unique and special place.

TO GET BACK TO THE TOWN

At the time to get back we can use the same path, although we recommend you go by another route and thus take advantage and see different things.

In this case we return to the road and continue along it, we leave the bridge that we have crossed before to the right, we continue a little further up the same road and on the left we will see a sign that indicates the way back to Deià. It is a section of the “Ruta de Pedra en Sec” that connects Sóller with Deià.

It's a paved road called "Sa Vinyeta" that, after crossing the road several more times and skirting the terraces of Es Verger, will take us to the municipal school and from there we can return through the streets of the town to the "Refugi" or the area where we have parked.
